Allen White (Baritone)
Allen was born in Enid,
Oklahoma, and developed a
love for music at a very
young age. Allen was saved
at the age of 8 in Fresno,
California. His first
experience with southern
gospel music was listening to
the Cathedral Quartet as a
child. Allen began singing
southern gospel music in
2005 when he joined the
Golden State Quartet. His
desire is to lead as many to
Christ as possible through
song and testimony.
Gil Ramirez Jr. (Bass)
Manager of HIS Quartet. Gil
grew up listening to and
loving Southern Gospel
music. While his dad was at
work, his mom always had
music playing, whether it was
Christian radio or vinyl
records. Early influences
include The Blackwood
Brothers, The Statesmen,
The Happy Goodmans, along
with other well-known groups
of the day. At the age of 10,
Gil experienced God’s
presence at a Californians’
concert. It made such an
impression on him that it
would later lead Gil to touch
lives through music as well!
Through life’s ups and
downs, Gil has seen God’s
hand ever present. He is
excited to share that
wonderful hope through
music and testimony. Gil and
his wife Susan reside in
Riverside.
James “Jim” Cole (Lead)
Born in Tampa, Florida, Jim
was raised a US Air Force
brat. Because of that, he
traveled a bit, including
Europe and Washington DC
until his dad retired from the
service and settled back in
Tampa. Yes folks, Jim is a
hard-core Buccaneers,
Lightning, and a Rays fan!
Raised in the church, his
mom sang in the choir and he
constantly got “the look” y’all
know what I’m talking about!
Jim started singing at the age
of 9 and sang all through
school. He gave his life to
Jesus at the age of 14, and
that’s when things really
started to change! He went to
the University of Tampa.
There he discovered his love
for reaching out to others, to
tell them of the love of Jesus
Christ. He moved to
California in ‘92 and served in
his local church. At that time,
he joined his first Southern
Gospel group “AV7”. In 2008
he was introduced to The
Golden State Quartet and
sang with them for several
years. Jim has been singing
and changing lives for Jesus
ever since!
Miss Heaven Shane
(Tenor/Alto)
Heaven has been singing
since she could talk.
Daughter of the “Gospel
Cowboy”, Bush Thornton &
Linda Thornton. She grew up
singing with her father and
sisters in church. She was a
backup singer in her dad’s
band at the age of 13. She
spent her days in high school
and college in choir, as well
as church choir. Heaven
comes from a long line of
musicians and singers. Her
grandfather was a member
and bass player for The
Victors Quartet with Tracy
Dartt. She has always had a
love of southern gospel
music. Heaven is happy to
follow in her big sister, Teresa
Phillips, footsteps by keeping
the tradition alive by joining
her first quartet group.
Heaven’s the newest and
only female singer of H.I.S
(Hearts In Service) Quartet.
Her love for God shines as
bright as her hair and loves
sharing His grace through
song. Heaven and her
husband, Albert, currently
reside in Victorville, CA.
